Current members of the
University of Illinois Alumni Association
are allowed to borrow regularly circulating monographs from University of Illinois
collections and to use other library resources on-site. UIC Library sites include:
Richard J. Daley Library and its branches (Mathematics Collection and Science Library),
and the Library of the Health Sciences in Chicago, Peoria, Rockford and Urbana.
To borrow materials, alumni
should present their current or life Alumni Association membership card and
some form of photo-ID such as a driver's license or a passport.
Services not extended to
members of the Alumni Association include interlibrary loan or other consortial
borrowing outside the UI collections. UIC will request circulating materials
from UIUC and UIS
and can usually get copies of articles from those library sites. Off-site
access to the proprietary data-bases is generally limited to current UIC faculty, staff,
and students; however, on-site access to the full range of electronic resources is allowed. The University of Illinois Alumni Association and the Library have partnered to provide access to a select set of databases. More information is available on the Library's Services to Alumni gateway page. Circulation of laptops is
restricted to current students, faculty, and staff. An I-card as well as library
records substantiate current enrollment or employment.
For items that cannot be loaned, each library site has coin or card operated
photocopiers for general use and printing services for in-Library use
of proprietary materials. Periodicals, journals, and other serial publications
are available for use within the Libraries.
