Memberships
are available to corporations as well as to individuals not affiliated
with UIC. In the case of corporate memberships, individuals within the
corporation are issued membership cards: only the person to whom the
card is issued may check out library materials. It is, therefore, important
that membership cards be purchased for the person(s) who will actually
come to the Library.
Corporate and individual
members may borrow items from UIC's Daley Library, Science Library,
and Mathematics Collection as well as from the Library of the Health
Sciences in Chicago, Peoria, and Rockford. Overdue and missing book
charges apply when warranted. Interlibrary loan service is not extended
to non-UIC users. Off-site access to the proprietary data-bases is limited
to current UIC faculty, staff, and students; however, on-site access
is allowed. UIC Library also offers a fee-based document-delivery service
called InfoQUIC.
