I-Share Consortial Agreement (reciprocal agreement)
Any student, faculty, or staff from participating institutions may walk in and, with current institutional ID, check out a book on site from any I-Share library. Additionally, items may be requested for checkout online from the combined catalogs of I-Share consortium members.

University of Chicago (reciprocal agreement)
Any tenured, tenure-track, clinical, or other faculty with special borrower card (Crerar Borrower Card) authorized by UC/UIC Libraries may walk in and check out a book on site. The Crerar Borrower Card is available from the Circulation Desk of the Daley Library. Other instructional staff and grad students may use a Crerar Access Card, available from the Reserve Desk of the Daley Library. The access card does not confer borrowing privileges. CIC (reciprocal agreement)
Any faculty member from participating institutions may walk in and, with a CIC faculty ID card authorized by the home library, may check out a book on site. All regularly appointed faculty at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor, and those with equivalent or corresponding ranks as librarians, research fellows and associates of CIC member institutions are eligible for the privilege herein outlined. The CIC Card is available from the circulation desks of the Daley, Science, and LHS Libraries. For more information on the CIC, please consult the CIC agreement.

OCLC/RLAC(reciprocal agreement)
Any faculty member from participating institutions, through the sponsorship of the Research Libraries Advisory Committee (RLAC), walk in and, with an OCLC card authorized by the home library, may check out a book on site. The OCLC/RLAC Faculty Borrower Card is available from the circulation desks of the Daley, Science, and LHS Libraries.

Loyola University Chicago (reciprocal agreement)
Any student, faculty, or staff may walk in and, with current institutional ID, check out a book on site. Users from Loyola University may borrow from East campus libraries only. UIC users are required to show a valid i-card to gain entry to Loyola University Libraries. For more information, please see the Daley Circulation Web pages. Loyola University Chicago Medical School (reciprocal agreement)
Loyola University Medical School faculty have borrowing privileges at the Library of the Health Sciences - Chicago. The agreement between the two is separate from the agreement between Loyola University and UIC regarding access to each other's libraries.

Rush-Presbyterian- St. Luke's Medical Center (reciprocal agreement)
Any faculty member, with current institutional ID and sticker provided by the user's home library, may check out books on site. The arrangement allows borrowing of monographs only. The basic loan period is 14 days. Though the borrower is responsibile for returning items, the home institution bears ultimate responsibility. John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County (reciprocal agreement)
Any faculty member, with current institutional ID and sticker provided by the user's home library, may check out books on site. The arrangement allows borrowing of monographs only. The basic loan period is 14 days. Though the borrower is responsibile for returning items, the home institution bears ultimate responsibility.

Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies (reciprocal agreement)
Any student, faculty, or staff may walk in and, with current institutional ID, check out a book on site. Users from Spertus may borrow from East campus libraries only. For more information on the Spertus Institute Library, please consult its Web site.

Lexington College (reciprocal agreement)
Any student, faculty, or staff may walk in and, with current institutional ID, check out a book on site. Users from Lexington may borrow from East campus libraries only. For more information on Lexington College, please consult its Web site.

Chicago Multitype Library System (reciprocal agreement)
Any member from participating institutions may walk in and, with current institutional ID and a note from the home library, may use a print resource on site. The user must establish that the library is the only one within an approximate 25 mile radius of Chicago to own that item. The process is mediated by the Chicago Multitype Library System.

Center for Research Libraries (CRL)
Any UIC student, faculty, or staff may, with prior arrangement and current institutional ID, access CRL materials on site. For more information on accessing CRL collections, please consult their Web pages.

Newberry Library
Any Newberry staff member or Newberry Fellow with an appropriate ID may check out books from the UIC Library. Although the Newberry Library is a member of I-Share, its collections do not circulate.

St. Ignatius College Prep School
Any St. Ignatius faculty member or student may, with appropriate ID, check out books on site. It is treated as expedited ILL in that outside users may come to the UIC LIbrary and, with an ALA request form in hand, borrow an item from the circulating collection. Expedited ILL bypasses the process of sending a formal request to the ILL unit at the Library and awaiting response and delivery. The user's home institution is ultimately responsible for the return of the material. Loans are for three weeks. Users from St. Ignatius may borrow from East campus libraries only. For more information on the library at St. Ignatius, please consult its Web site.

Whitney Young Magnet High School
Any Whitney Young faculty member or student may, with appropriate ID, check out books on site. It is treated as expedited ILL in that outside users may come to the UIC LIbrary and, with an ALA request form in hand, borrow an item from the circulating collection. Expedited ILL bypasses the process of sending a formal request to the ILL unit at the Library and awaiting response and delivery. . Loans are for four weeks. Federal, State, County, and City Health Agencies
LHS has limited in-person borrowing agreements for officials affiliated with the West Side VA Hospital, Illinois State Crime Lab, Illinois State Department of Public Health, Illinois State Racing Board, Cook County Health Department, Cook County Medical Examiners, and the Metropolitan Child and Adolescent Services.

Peoria Area Health Professionals
Area health professionals not affiliated with UIC may request a courtesy card that provides circulation privileges for the LHS-Peoria collection. Professional identification will be requested.

Rockford area residents
Any area resident who is 16 years of age or older may request a registration to borrow materials from LHS-Rockford.
