The UIC Government Documents Department is a 90%
selective depository library for US Government publications. The
collection strengths include: US Bureau of the Census; HUD; Congress; and
DOE publications. Bibliographic records for US Government publications are
available through UICCAT, the UIC Library online catalog.
Although the
library began collecting US Government publications in 1956, the Documents
Department has acquired a strong historical collection including an almost
complete Serial Set. The Department offers access to US Government
information in all formats including CD-ROMs and information on the
Internet, such as GPO Access. Publications in microfiche/microfilm are
located in the Microforms Department, Main Library 2nd floor north.
