the individual photographs or photomaps covering your area of interest,
consult the graphic indexes available from the staff at the Documents and
Maps Desk.
A summary of Chicago area holdings is available in the Maps Section and on
the Maps Sectionâs web site. The orthophoto quads and orthophoto maps
produced by the U.S. Geological Survey are indexed with and filed with
their respective state topographic map series.
Physical access: Aerial photographs are housed
in vertical filing cabinets and aerial photomaps are housed in horizontal
map cases. All storage units are locked. Upon request, a member of the
Documents and Maps staff will unlock the appropriate unit and provide
assistance in locating coverage of specific sites.
Circulation policy: Aerial photographs and
photomaps circulate for one week and may be charged out at the Documents
and Map Desk, 3rd floor center. Renewals may be made either in person, by
telephone (312/996-2738), or through E-mail (lib-maps@uic.edu).
