Bibliographic access: The Maps Section maintains
a small collection of reference books relating to cartographic materials
(atlases, maps, etc.) and cartographic information services. The portion
of the collection classified with Library of Congress call numbers may be
found by using UICCAT, the online catalog. Access is by author, title,
subject, and keyword. UICCAT may also be used to identify additional
resources on cartographic materials. The portion of the collection
classified by Superintendent of Documents call numbers may be found by
using the indexes to government documents located in the Documents
Department. Titles published after mid-1976 may also be listed in UICCAT.
The Documents Department shelf list should be consulted for information on
shelving locations.
Physical access: The cartographic reference
collection is shelved at the north end of the Maps Section and is available
for use whenever the Daley Library is open.
Circulation policy: Most books in the
cartographic reference collection do not circulate. One day loan of some
non-circulating books may be arranged at the discretion of a Documents,
Maps and Microforms Department librarian.
