Comer Archive of Chicago in the Year 2000 - These photographs are from the Comer Archive of Chicago in the Year 2000, the University Library, University of Illinois at Chicago. Gary Comer's timeless 'gift to the city of Chicago' was a year-long project involving more than 200 photographers who captured the look and the heart of Chicago in the first year of the second millennium. The project includes 500,000 negatives, about 500 audio and video tapes, and the corporate records of CITY2000. Mr. Comer donated the archive to the UIC Library in 2001, to ensure that it is preserved and made accessible into the far future.
