How to locate journals at UIC
Print Journals Online Journals Journals Not Available

What journals are available in Print at UIC?
Search UICCAT for complete print journal holdings. Electronic journal information is available in UICCAT, but a "Alphabetic List of Electronic Journals" is also maintained.
  • Click UICCAT to access the online catalog.
  • Enter in the Title of the Journal in the text box below "Find This"
  • Select "Journal Title" in the scroll bar beneath "Find Results by"
  • Click on Search 
  • A list of journal titles will appear (not always the case).
  • Click on the title that appears closest to your search request.
Print Journal Holding Information
  • Scroll down the "brief record"
  •     Daley Library - Periodicals indicates it is available in print at the Daley Library
  •     LHS Chicago Periodical Stacks indicates it is available in print at LHS Chicago
  •     LHS Peoria Periodical Stacks indicates it is available in print at LHS Peoria
  •     LHS Rockford Periodical Stacks indicates it is available in print at LHS Rockford
  •     LHS Urbana Periodical Stacks indicates it is available in print at LHS Urbana
  •     Science/3500 SES Periodicals Stacks indicates it is available in print at the Science Library
  • Refer to Status, Recent Issues, and Older Issues for dates the library received the journal.
Online Journal Holding Information
  • The image indicates that a journal is available online. If a list of journal titles appears (not always the case), the "e" in the far right column is an indication that the journal is available online.
  • To access the full-text journal, click on the title of the journal. You must click on the journal title that is displaying the "e" in the far right column. Under "Full Title," "name of journal" [electronic resource] will also appear. (e.g JAMA [electronic resource])
  • Once you are in the record, click on the journal link visible next to link. Below in the record is information on the years the journal is available online.
What Journals are Available Full Text Online?
There are 2 ways to find out what journals are available online: UICCAT (follow directions above) and the Alphabetic List of UIC's Electronic Journals (see below).
  • The Alphabetic List of UIC's Electronic Journals.
    • Link to the Alphabetic List of UIC's Electronic Journals.
    • Use the E-journal search engine or select the first letter of the journal's title to browse the alphabetic list.
    • Click on the title or provider link to access the full text.
    • For more information, consult the electronic journal FAQs.
    • Not all journals are available electronically. Also refer to UICCAT for our print journal holdings.
What do I do if the Journal article I want is not Online or in Print?
Any UIC Facutly, Student, or Staff may request articles from journals not owned by UIC through Inter Library Loan (ILL).
