Essential Evidence Plus

Essential Evidence Plus (formerly InfoPoems) includes Griffith's 5 Minute Clinical Consult. It is available for the Pocket PC and Palm OS handhelds. Access to this resource is available through the library for the UIC community.

Essential Evidence Plus is designed to support evidence-based medicine (EBM). It includes POEMs stands for "Patient-Oriented Evidence that Matters." Essenstial Evidence Plus can also be delivered to you daily via email.


POCKETConsult

POCKETConsult is available to the UIC community as part of the library's subscriptions to MDConsult and FirstConsult. POCKETConsult, availble for the Pocket PC and Palm OS, provides current medical news, drug alerts, medical calculators, journal tables of contents, and a search interface that will store a search and run it during the next synchronization. You can also elect to download ebook versions of FirstConsult and/or Mosby'e Drug Consult as part of the POCKETConsult library.

You will need to establish your free POCKETConsult account within MD Consult or First Consult in order to use POCKETConsult. Visit POCKETConsult for more information.


Access Medicine

Specific content within Access Medicine can be downloaded to your PDA. In addition, there is a differential diagnois database that can be downloaded to a Pocket PC or Palm OS (under DDx) called Diagnosaurus.

Access Medicine also offers PodCasts which you can download to your IPod or listen to using iTunes.


Clinical Pharmacology on Hand

Clinical Pharmacology on Hand is a drug information application that provides peer reviewed, clinically-relevant information on drugs available in the United States, including off-label uses and dosages, herbal supplements, nutritional products, and new and investigational drugs. Clinical Pharmacology on Hand can be downloaded to both Palm and Pocket PC devices.
