Thesis Binding
- We only accept theses written in conjunction with UIC conferred degrees. If your thesis is for a degree earned at another institution, please contact the bindery directly at 1 800 334-3628.
- Copies of theses/dissertations submitted for binding must be in separate envelopes provided by the user. Affix a photocopy of your thesis title page, which should include your name and thesis title, to the outside of each envelope. Be sure to provide the exact number of copies to be bound; the binding company will not make photocopies.
A legibly typed or printed UIC Thesis Binding Request form must be completed and submitted with your materials. The information provided on this form is used for binding purposes, so be sure all words in the title are included and spelled correctly. Write out your name as you want it to appear.
- The Library is not responsible for thesis/dissertation copies that are not in order or have missing pages, etc.; therefore, it is important that users check each copy prior to submitting it for binding.
- There are various color selections for the cover as well as three color choices for the lettering. Office staff will assist with the color selections for your thesis/dissertation copies. Lettering will appear on the front cover and spine.
- The cost per thesis/dissertation is: $7.65 each
The Library will accept personal checks, cashier's checks and money orders made payable to the "University of Illinois at Chicago". No cash or credit cards are accepted as payment. Your e-mail address (our preferred method of contact) and a daytime telephone number must be included on your check or money order.
Bring copies of the thesis/dissertation, the completed request form, and your payment, to the Circulation Desk , 1st floor, of the Library of the Health Sciences - Chicago, 1750 W. Polk Street
- E-mail notification will be sent when your thesis is ready for pick-up (approximately 4-6 weeks). Bound thesis/dissertation copies can be picked up at the Circulation Desk all hours the Library is open. Proper UIC identification is required for pick-up of materials. Alternate pick-up persons must show valid identification as well. If there are additional questions, call us at 312.996.8985.
