Searching Databases: The Basics

1. Use the database help screens.
2. Use boolean logic.
3. Use subject headings (when available).
4. Use words you might find in the title of an article (when subject headings are not available).
5. Limit your search if you retrieve too many articles.
6. Broaden your search if you retrieve too few articles.
