The MEDLINE database is produced by the National Library of Medicine and provides bibliographic citations to journal articles from the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and the preclinical sciences. The coverage extends back to the 1950's. Close to 5,000 biomedical journals from around the world are indexed in this system.

Web of Science
This database is produced by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) and indexes over 8,000 journals. It provides subject and author searching as well as the ability to perform cited reference searches to determine how often a particular author has been cited and by whom.
