PubMed
PubMed searches the MEDLINE database plus publisher-supplied citations.
MEDLINE is produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM). It is a
database which indexes over 4,800 biomedical journals from around the
world and dates back to the 1950s. From this database you can perform
topic searches and retrieve citations to articles. Many of the citations
will include full-text links.
PsycINFO
The PsycINFO database covers the professional and academic literature in
the field of psychology and related disciplines including medicine,
psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology,
linguistics, and other areas. This system indexes over 1,400 journals
published in over 30 languages, dissertations, technical reports, book
chapters, and books.
Web of
Science
This database is produced by the Institute for Scientific
Information (ISI) and indexes over 8,000 journals. It provides subject
and author searching as well as the ability to perform cited reference
searches to determine how often a particular author has been cited and by
whom.
