General
How can I purchase a Flames
card?
Card Value Center vending machines
are available for users to purchase the Flames card. The machines will
accept $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills. You must have a $1 bill in order to
purchase a Flames card from the vending machine. There are no
change machines available in the Library.
Do I have to purchase the
Flames card?
No. Users who prefer to have one
card can add value to their i-card for photocopying and printing
services.
Can I use the Flames card in the computer lab?
Yes. The Flames card can be used if print quotas are in
excess of $15.00 (150 pages).
What is the most value I can place on the
Flames card? an I-card?
Value up to $50.00 can be added to the Flames or i-card
at the Card Value Center vending machines located in the Daley Library.
Will the Card Value Centers accept bills larger
than a dollar to add value to the Flames card or i-card?
Yes. The machines will accept $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills.
How will departmental vouchers be handled?
The Library does not accept vouchers. For information,
contact the UIC Copy Center, 291 Student Center East (SCE) at

There are no
change machines available in the Library.
Photocopying
Where are the photocopiers located in this
building?
Photocopy machines are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
floors of the Daley Library.
Can I use my U-Print quota for photocopying?
No. You must add money to your i-card in order
to use it in the photocopy machines.

Printing
Do I need an i-card for printing?
When UIC users have exhausted their $15.00 per semester
print allocation, they can pay for print jobs by adding value to their
i-card or the Flames card.
Where are the printing stations?
PHAROS print stations are located on the 1st and 2nd
floors of the Daley Library.
How long will my print job be available for
printing?
Print jobs remain in the system for
twelve hours; jobs are sorted by date and time.
How do I report problems with copies? machines?
Problems with printing should be sent to lib-sys@uic.edu.
