The UIC Library subscribes to more than 11,000 electronic journals, and users now can find up-to-date links to all of them by searching UICCAT , the library's online catalog, or by consulting the Library's Web page Alphabetical List of Electronic Journals.
All of the electronic journal links are accessible to UICCAT users through any search strategy -- search by journal title, keyword, subject, or any other choice from the search menu.
If the Library subscribes to an electronic version of a journal, there is a blue icon marked "e" next to the record on the results screen and next to the link for the electronic resourse in the brief and detailed records. Note that these resources are available online only to UIC users.
The "library location" for an electronic journal is "Electronic Collections." Click on the title of the journal to move from the list of titles to the chosen record, which contains links to the electronic journal through various databases, along with dates of coverage. When the library subscribes to both print and electronic versions of a journal, UICCAT will contain two separate records informing users what journal issues are available in each format.
Users can continue to use the Alphabetical List of Electronic Journals to locate a specific electronic journal. Simply type the name of the journal in the search box marked "title begins with," or browse the letter-by-letter lists.
Contact a reference librarian with questions about electronic journals or any other Library inquiry. The Ask a Librarian page contains links to e-mail and live-chat reference services, as well as telephone numbers and reference hours for UIC Library service desks.
