D.J. Davis Papers Finding Aid Available

The University Archives announces that an online finding aid is now available for the D.J. Davis Papers, located at the Special Collections Department of the Library of the Health Sciences. Dr. David J. Davis was a famous and respected Dean of the University of Illinois College of Medicine from 1924-1943. His personal papers 4.5 linear feet of material from 1913-1955 and include manuscripts of his published and unpublished writings; correspondence and reports relating to his activities in the Illinois Medical Society, the Chicago Municipal Tuberculosis Sanitarium, the D. J. Davis Lecture; general subject files; and drawings and notes taken as a medical student.

This online finding aid is part of the University Archives pilot EAD fining aid program and was encoded in XML using the EAD2002 DTD and later converted to HTML using a XSL stylesheet. As XML use becomes more widespread, the XML finding aids will be made available on the web in their native format.
