Project HEALTHY for Seniors: Just a Click Away
The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Library of the Health Sciences-Peoria (LHS-Peoria), the Alliance Library System, and the Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center (MITBC) are pleased to announce Project HEALTHY (Hearing Electronically About Living the HEALTHY Years). This innovative online program enables seniors and health providers to listen to informational, interactive programs about important health topics via an Internet-accessible computer that has a sound card and speakers.
The series of monthly programs includes:
- September 29 at 10:00 a.m. "Medical Care is a Partnership." Project Coordinator Tom Peters of TAP Information Services will host Roswell Daniels, MD, Lori Reimer, RN, and Jean C. Aldag, PhD.
- October 26 at 10:30 a.m. "The Aging Eye" with guest expert Dennis Cioni, RN, BS, COT.
- November 12 (time to be announced) "Managing Diabetes" with guest expert Tom Dorsch, MD.
Anyone is welcome to "attend" the free programs, and no registration is required. At the time of the program, go to and click the link for the HEALTHY online auditorium. Type your name in the box and click "Enter."
All programs will be recorded and made available on the Project HEALTHY Web site and on CD and cassette for loan from LHS-Peoria and MITBC. The Project HEALTHY Web site also provides information, helpful links and resources on program topics.
