UIC Library Resources Remain Accessible While You are Home for the Holidays
The UIC Library Chicago locations -- the Daley Library, the Science Library, and the Library of the Health
Sciences-Chicago -- are maintaining
intersession schedules and will operate under the campus's reduced
services plan from December 24, 2004 - January 2, 2005. The
buildings will be open fewer hours, but many of the Library's
resources and services will remain accessible to you at all times
through the Library's Web pages.
See the hours for each building location:

While the buildings are closed, you can stay in your home or office
and access the Library's home page to:
- Renew your books or see what books are checked out to you via the
MyAccount function of UICCAT.
- Ask a Librarian a reference
question. (Live Chat will be unavailable December 18 -January 2.
Email reference questions submitted between December 24 and January 2
may not be answered until January 4.)
- Search for information on a topic in the contents of several online
resources at once using qUICsearch.
- Continue your research by using the more than 10,000 electronic
resources
to which the Library subscribes.
- Search for a specific book in UICCAT, the Library's online catalog.
- Look through 10,000 photographs from the Library's Comer Archive of
Chicago in the Year 2000.
- Send an email to the Library to suggest a book purchase.
- View online exhibits of Special Collections and University Archives
materials.
- Plan your 2005 garden using ePlants, an on-line searchable database
providing plant evaluation information and digital images for a
variety of ornamental plants, including perennials, vines, shrubs and
trees.
