Access to New Online Resources Begins July 1

UIC Library users will have some new options in resources for research as of July 1, 2006. The Library will upgrade several existing databases and add important new ones. Please add or change your bookmarks for the resources described below.

	CINAHL Plus with Full Text will be introduced on July 1. Provided by EBSCO, it is actually three component databases. Combined with regular CINAHL, additional full text contents of pre-CINAHL and CINAHL Select provide nearly cover-to-cover access to full text in nursing and allied health sciences literature.
	On July 1, the Library will add to Journals at Ovid a package of peer reviewed journals published by the National Research Council of Canada. The NRC Press science collection includes high impact titles in biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, environmental sciences, genetics and genomics.
	PsycArticles and PsycInfo -- full text e-journals and an index provided by the American Psychological Association and Canadian Psychological Association -- will be hosted on CSA Illumina as of July 1. Illumina provides multiple options for your search process. Current bookmarks to PsycArticles and PsycInfo will not work after June 30; change to the new addresses by consulting the A to Z list of electronic resources.
	Applied Science and Technology Abstracts (ASTA) and Biography Index will be available through WilsonWeb beginning July 1; the FirstSearch bookmarks for these citation databases will not work after June 30. In addition, Biography Index will be upgraded to Biography Reference Bank, containing more records and full text articles. Wilson's Business Abstracts is available in First Search only through June 30. The Library is discontinuing its license to this resource and suggests researchers instead use ABI/Inform or Business Source Elite access.
	The Library can provide these new resources and upgrades and save costs at the same time through its participation in CARLI (Consortium of Academic Research Libraries in Illinois), a collaborative that enables Illinois research libraries to offer expanded access to resources through cooperative purchases.
