State Academies of Science Abstracts

The University of Illinois at Chicago Library is pleased to announce the availability of the online database-State Academies of Science Abstracts. This database is an authoritative indexing and abstracting resource on research studies that are specific to states and regions of the United States. It is the foremost source of records on new species, range extensions, and threatened and endangered species in all 50 states. Since the members of the State Academies of Science are employed in higher education, government and industry, and are specialists in their particular fields of science, this database provides a vehicle for the systematic, periodic examination of their scholarly research activities. Forty of the forty-one academies that publish a journal are represented in this database with some of the journals indexed back to 1943. The database is accessed through Marshall University and WVNET with updates entered every 40 days.
