IEL Online

The Library is pleased to announce a cooperative venture with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which enables UIC to have access to IEL Online. This database, also known as IEEE/IEE Electronic Library, provides access to more than 30% of the world's literature in electrical engineering and computer science. It contains more than 4,000 publication titles and more than 570,000 articles, including full-text of IEEE Transactions, IEEE Journals, IEEE Magazines, IEEE Letters, IEEE Conference Proceedings, IEEE Standards, IEE Journals, and IEE Conferences back to 1988. This database can be accessed at http://www.ieee.org/ieeexplore .

This database can be found in the alphabetical list of electronic resources on the Library's homepage at http://www.uic.edu/depts/lib/.

All IEEE and IEE journals and magazines will be added to the list of electronic journals on the Library's homepage and appropriate notes will be added to UICCAT to guide individuals from print proceedings to the electronic proceedings of IEEE. If you suspect that what you want is possibly published by IEEE or IEE, then check IEL Online. If you want to browse issues of IEEE or IEE journals and magazines, then check IEL Online.

Standards

The library has access to the standards from ASTM, ANSI, ASHRAE, and ASME through the database, Information Handling Services Standards. This database formerly was available only on CD-ROM in the Science Library. The database can be found on the Library's homepage or directly at http://www.ihserc.com/cgi-bin/ihslogin . In addition to this database, the NISO standards are available at NISO Standards Online, http://www.techstreet.com/list-niso-stds.tmpl .
