Internet Grateful Med

Internet Grateful Med (IGM) will retire at 5pm on Friday, September 28, 2001. It has been replaced by the new NLM Gateway at http://gateway.nlm.nih.gov/gw/Cmd, which allows simultaneous searching in multiple National Library of Medicine databases, including MEDLINE/PubMed. Internet Grateful Med has served a dedicated user community for over 5 years. With the shutdown of the National Library of Medicine's mainframe, Internet Grateful Med will be retired. Users attempting to access Internet Grateful Med following its shutdown will be presented with links to other National Library of Medicine search services appropriate to the data formerly available through Internet Grateful Med. Users having questions or comments may contact the National Library of Medicine customer service at custserv@nlm.nih.gov.

Nature

After many months of negotiations, UIC now has electronic access to the weekly, Nature. It can be accessed at http://www.Nature.com. Access has been brought about by a consortial agreement through CIC. Negotiations are now underway to gain access to the monthly Natures. If an acceptable license is provided, we may have access to these monthlies by the end of this year.

New Electronic Journal Collections

Watch Library-News for announcements concerning access to several collections of electronic journals, including BioOne, Kluwer, Mary Ann Liebert, and Blackwell. These are large collections that will add close to one thousand new titles to our growing list of full text electronic journals.
