Wright American Fiction 1851-1875

The UIC Library has been cooperating with other CIC schools in a project called the Wright American Fiction 1851-1875 Project. This is a massive digitizing project of books listed in Lyle Wright's Bibliography of American Fiction, 1851-1875. The digitized collection currently contains 1,752 texts by 845 authors of which 1,600 are unedited and 155 are fully edited and encoded. The editing and encoding are being done jointly by several of the CIC institutions. To create this database, the texts that are listed in the bibliography are digitized page-by-page. The files are then converted, edited, and encoded and when finished a search and display functionality will be put in place. This database can be found at http://www.letrs.indiana.edu/web/w/wright2/.
