Dig/Cultivation: Plotting Virtual Gardens, 1995

As part of the BT/EMA Innovation Award, Derby Photography Festival and Montage Gallery commissioned Esther Parada to create a piece of work for the city of Derby. Parada created a series of digital gardens based on her research of English garden traditions, exploring a range of cultural assumptions regarding artifice and nature, wildnerness and civilisation, native and foreign, purity and hybridity. One of these virtual gardens, Transplant, is presented in its entirety here.
