Whose
News?
Whose Image?
Whose Truth? 1986
This 1986 photo-text work questions media representation
of Sandinista Nora Astorga (named in 1984 as Nicaragua's ambassador to
the U.S.) Once again playing off a symmetrical format, this series of
three double-page spreads differs from the Smedley Butler poster in that
it juxaposes not only contrasting texts but also radically different images
of the same woman to show the editorializing power of photographic choice.
