- A total of 10,000 local gazetteers were compiled and

- The National Library Microfilming Center for Historical
- Documents, established in 1985, has reproduced 971 old
- local gazetteers from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi,
- Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces and
- sold them overseas.
