Instructions on how to subsribe, unsubscribe, etc.

CALA Listserv was launched in June 1994 at University of 'Milwaukee--Madison. Dr. Wilfred Fong is the first list owner. On February 14, 2003, CALA Listserv moved to a new location: cala@umich.edu. The current list owner is Shixing Wen (shwen@umich.edu).

To subscribe:

1. send an email message to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: subscribe (your full name)
   (For example: subscribe Tushu Guan)

To unsubscribe:

1. send an email message to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: unsubscribe

To change your email address:

1. send an email message from your CURRENT email address to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: set email=[new-email-address]
   (For example: set email=tguan@xiehui.org)

To set to digest mode:

1. send an email message to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: set digest ["Digest" mode means that you will get one mailing per day consisting of the last 24 hours of postings.]

To set to index mode:

1. send an email message to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: set index ["Index" mode is a once-a-day mailing of the SUBJECT lines of the postings of the last 24 hours, with instructions about retrieving those postings that are of interest to you.]

To temporarily suspend mail:

1. send an email message to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: set nomail

To resume mail:

1. send an email message to: cala-request@umich.edu
2. leave the subject line blank
3. in the body of message, type: set mail or set digest or set index

To send mail to the cala list: send an e-mail message to: cala@umich.edu

To view the archive on the web:

1. go to listserver.itd.umich.edu/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=cala
2. type in your email address [This archive is for current subscribers to view only.]
3. leave Your Password blank

If you need any help regarding your subscription:

1. do NOT send such requests to the cala list!
2. instead, please send your message to: cala-owner@listserver.itd.umich.edu
3. Your request will be honored in a timely manner.
