Cultural Events

Book Multimedia Exhibition/Author Lecture Program

Exhibition:

Publishers or institutions will exhibit their new books or multimedia electronic products in CJK Collection, and on topic area related to Chinese culture, such as, Chinese fine arts, folk and festival arts, acupuncture and herbal medicine, literature, calligraphy, poetry, linguistics and the evolution of written language.


Author Lecture: CALA Midwest Chapter will present two contemporary Chinese writers to discuss their works and to autograph their books. Co-sponsored by the Chinese Writers Asso. Of Greater Chicago Area.

Dr. William Marr: This is a Poem, That is a Fly
Marr has published 11 books of poetry, 10 of them in Chinese, and the most recent one, Autumn Window, in English. His poems have been translated into serveral languages and have appeared in over seventy anthologies.

Dr. Raymond Ku: Literature and Daily Living
Ku has published 5 books in Chinese. His desire to balance humanism, passion for life and freedom of spirit permeates through his writing. Ku is also a popular public speaker on cultural diversity, literature and arts at various public and corporate events in the Midwest area.
