* Chopping Broccoli
What does similarity have to do with chopping broccoli? A lot, actually. Students can explore the notion of self-similarity in a geometric pattern called fractals. Fractals are colorful designs which incorporate a lot of mathematics. A student project and assignment by Mathematics Department of Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, IL.

* Designing Units Around Math and Science Topics (ED312, Spring 1995) ILW Original

* What a steal! or What a ripoff?
In this activity, students will use the Internet and exponential regression to help them find an affordable automobile at a reasonable price. If the price is not so reasonable, then at least students will have proof to show the car salesperson that the sticker price is a bit steep for their pocket book. An Internet project by mathematics teacher, Evan Glazer at Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, IL.

* What if...?
The purpose of this project is to discover, through experimentation and surveying, whether a relationship exists between two different variables. A statistics project by Evan Glazer, mathematics teacher at Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, IL.
