This is an online project that introduces primary students to the concept of the internet, telecommunications, and e-mail. For teachers the project has the purpose of integrating telecommunication into their existing curriculum and class instruction. It provides a link between the real world and what students learn in the classroom.

* Communities
In Ms. Lococo's second grade at Washington Irving School in Oak Park, Illinois students are studying communities. Several activities have been used to integrate this theme into mathmatics, geography, language arts and social skills development.

An Internet project by mathematics teacher, Evan Glazer at Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, IL.

* What if...?
The purpose of this project is to discover, through experimentation and surveying, whether a relationship exists between two different variables. A statistics project by Evan Glazer, mathematics teacher at Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, IL.

Reading & Literature
* The Trial of the Century
Project by 4th graders at Carroll-Rosenwald School, Chicago, IL. On Friday May 3, 1996, the 3rd grade students in Room 104 at Rosenwald held a civil trial. Sciences
* Chickscope Project
University Primary School in Champaign, Illinois children in the Col. Wolfe classroom are able to control an MRI scanner twice a week to study live chicken embryos as they develop. The project, run by a collaboration which includes the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Project SEARCH (a U. Ill. science outreach program), the College of Veterinary medicine, and the University's Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Larboratory, allows students to control an MRI scanner and study the developing chicken embryos without causing them harm.

* Environmental Data
Students at Milford High School are collecting environmental data on the Sugar Creek watershed and comparing it with land use practices over time.

* Forces and Winds (Department of Atmospheric Sciences, University of Illinois)
Because of the uneven heating of the earth by the sun, differences in pressure are established. These differences cause air parcels to move from areas of relatively higher pressure to areas of lower pressure. This is the birth of wind. Additional forces then interact with the moving air parcel and influence its direction and velocity.

*Holy Cow
The object of this project is to integrate linear functions, quadratic functions, parametric equations, and concepts in physics in a problem solving situation using the Geometer's SketchPad. Physics Project by Evan Glazer at Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, IL.
