Internet resources on books for children and young adults.

* Science Activities Manual: K-8
The Science Activities Manual: K-8 addresses content with a hands-on approach while incorporating the skills necessary to raise the activity to a higher cognition level. This emphasis on both the physical and mental aspects of teaching and learning science is best described as "touch science" or "hands-on science." The major motivation is to employ instructional strategies that bring the students physically and mentally into touch with the science they are studying.

* Virtual Curriculum: Elementary Art Education
This site is designed to aid teachers in the art education of elementary aged children. Many lessons have been written and gathered on various topics, historical time periods, and cultures throughout the world. Each section will display lessons and links devoted to a particular concept. The lesson plan will include the concept, objectives, vocabulary, materials, procedures and evaluation.

Jointly developed by The Library of Congress, The Smithsonian Institution, The National Archives, The National Endowment for the Arts, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The goal of the Web site is to encourage teachers, students , and lifelong learners to connect current events with American history by tapping into the vast resources now available online from Washington's national cultural institutions.

Cyberspace Middle School is designed for students in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades who are using the World Wide Web to help get an education. However, students and teachers in all grades have found it useful.

* Amazing Science At Roxy
This site provides K-12 physical science education materials that are specifically designed for teachers, parents and students. Its chemistry section includes the electronic editions of the NCW Wonderscience, and downloadable movies of common chemistry demonstrations.

* Dragonfly
Project Dragonfly is a joint venture of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), funded by a grant by the National Science Foundation, with the assistance of the Center for Human Development, Learning, and Teaching. Their primary mission is to provide a national voice for young investigators and the opportunity for them to interact with experienced researchers.

* KidLit Children's Literature Home Page
KidLit WebSite, designed for kids (mostly) and for adults interested in quality children's literature. They have a good selection of literature and art by kids of various ages, and a full length time travel novel.

* Mathematics Archives WWW Server
Provides access to most public domain and Shareware Software (including K-12) as well as materials which can be used in the teaching of math at the college level. Also provides an extensive list of links to other math and science resources.

* The Math Forum
Math Forum resources include math resources organized for teachers, students, and researchers, by topic and by level, public forums for discussing math and math education, and sections devoted to current topics in math education.

* Math Magic
MathMagic is a K-12 telecommunications project developed in El Paso, Texas. It provides strong motivation for students to use computer technology while increasing problem-solving strategies and communications skills. MathMagic posts challenges in each of four categories (k-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12) to trigger each registered team to pair up with another team and engage in a problem-solving dialog.
