* Alder Planetarium And Museum Web Site
The Adler opened on May 12, 1930 as the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, and continues today to interpret the exploration of the Universe for the broadest possible audience.

* The Art Institute Of Chicago
The museum houses more than 300,000 works of art within its ten curatorial departments. Among its great treasures are the legendary masterpieces A Sunday on La Grand Jatte by Georges Seurat, American Gothic by Grant Wood, Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, and 33 paintings by Claude Monet.

* The Chicago Academy Of Sciences Hompepage
Founded in 1857, the Chicago Academy of Sciences is dedicated to increasing the understanding and appreciation of science through programs that focus on the natural environment. Based on the belief that science literacy is necessary for all citizens to fully participate in society, the Academy creates opportunities for families, schoolchildren, and teachers to enter, explore, and enjoy the world of science.

The Illinois State Museum is a system of museums and galleries serving the people of Illinois. The Museums foster an appreciation of the living world, introduce the art of Illinois, open windows to education, and protect irreplaceable state treasures.

* Krannert Art Museum
The Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion, located on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, houses a collection of more than eight thousand works of art, ranging in date from the fourth millennium B.C. to the present in ten permanent galleries.

* The Mary & Leigh Block Gallery

* The Museum Of Broadcast Communications
Since its opening in 1987, the Museum of Broadcast Communications has entertained thousands of visitors every year with unique, hands-on exhibits, a wide array of broadcasting memorabilia, and an extensive public archives collection of more than 60,000 radio and television programs and commercials.

* The Museum Of Science And Industry

* Oriental Institute Museum
The Oriental Institute Museum is a showcase of the history, art and archaeology of the ancient Near East. An integral part of the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute, which has supported research and archaeological excavation in the Near East since 1919, the Museum exhibits major collections of antiquities from Egypt, Mesopotamia, Iran, Syria, Palestine, and Anatolia.



* The Shedd Aquarium
John G. Shedd Aquarium, a non-profit institution dedicated to public education and conservation, is the world's largest indoor aquarium. The facility houses nearly 8,000 aquatic animals representing some 650 species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, birds and mammals from waters around the world.

* Museums In The Classroom Homepage
Sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education Office of Technology's Museums in the Classroom Project, TEEE represents a bold new vision of learning and a redefinition of the museum's place in the community and classroom. Eight other museums or museum consortia also participate in the Museums in the Classroom Project, working with 25 schools on projects that highlight the resources of each institution.
