Tell me about the UIC Reserve Service
Reserve service allows instructors to set aside books and articles in the library or make articles and book excerpts available online for use by students in their courses. This enables students to access course materials in a centralized location for short periods of time. Reserve materials are accessible all hours the library is open.
When should I submit Reserve lists?
The deadline for reserve requests is six weeks prior to the beginning of classes. Lists received after the deadline may not be processed in time for the beginning of the semester. How can I submit reserve lists?
All reserve lists may be submitted in person, by mail and via e-mail.
Daley Library reserve list forms in MS-Word and Corel WordPerfect formats are available at http://www.uic.edu/depts/lib/circulation/services/reserves/resforms.shtml You may e-mail reserve lists to LIB-RES@uic.edu.
The Library of the Health Sciences at Chicago reserve forms and submission guidelines are posted at http://www.uic.edu/depts/lib/lhsc/services/accserv/reserves.shtml Reserve lists are also accepted via e-mail at LIB-LHSC-RES@uic.edu.
Science Library reserve is designated for science courses at and above the 400 level. Direct any inquiries for science reserve to LIB-SCI@uic.edu.
NOTE: Copyright Law places restrictions on reserve use of copyrighted material, in paper and electronic form. Reserve staff is available to assist you with copyright inquiries.
