Letter from Florence Nightingale to Henry Fawcett, 1880
Autograph letter, signed (mourning stationery). [London], March 11, 1880. To Henry Fawcett. 12 mo., 44 pages.
A 44-page letter in which Miss Nightingale writes at length her criticism of Government in India as a result of publicity given by newspapers regarding the "flourishing
state of Indian finances." She criticizes the Poona S. Sabha, a powerful association in India, and expresses hope that the House of Commons will not listen to their proposals.
In her thinking, the remedy is English law.
