What is a finding aid?
A finding aid is a descriptive guide for an archival collection. Finding aids include information about the origin, history, content, date and format of the records. Finding aids often contain detailed inventories to help researchers locate relevant materials efficiently. Finding aids on the Special Collections website will either appear as a web page or as a PDF document that you can download to your hard drive.
