The Chicago Board of Trade
Incorporated in 1859 as a commodities exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) remains the principal center for trading in contracts for future delivery. The archives cover the period between 1863 and 1972 and are the only existing record of a commodities exchange.
Materials available for research include correspondence, legal and financial records, committee and annual reports as well as miscellaneous materials published by and about the CBOT. This collection is restricted. Please call the Special Collections Department at 312-996-2742 for more information
