Biography of

Dorothy North was an active supporter of the Woman's Peace Party and other progressive causes affiliated with Jane Addams and Hull-House. North also supported Maurice Brown's "Trojan Women" in the hopes that their nationwide production of Euripides' ancient anti-war drama would help keep American out of World War I.

The Chicago Historical Society donated these papers to the University of Illinois at Chicago in June 1966. These items were removed from a scrapbook originally donated by Mrs. Sidney Haskins to the Chicago Historical Society in that same year.
