Abstract:
Joseph Logue De La Cour began his political career as a civil service examiner for Chicago in 1928 and later served as an Illinois House Representative and Senator. The collection consists of correspondence, reports, minutes, bulletins, speeches, legislative records, photographs pertaining chiefly to Joseph Logue De La Cour's activities as an Illinois State Representative and Senator in the 65th to the 75th General Assemblies.

Biographical Sketch

Joseph Logue De La Cour began his political career as a civil service examiner for Chicago in 1928. He served in that capacity until 1934, and again from 1942 until 1967. From 1934 until 1937, he was secretary of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission leaving to become a public relations officer for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. In 1946 he was elected as a Democrat to the Illinois House of Representatives and served the 29th and 11th districts from 1947 until 1962 when he was elected to the Illinois Senate from the 25th senatorial district. He was a member of the Illinois Senate until his death in 1967
