Biography of Jean Barr Cohen

Jean Barr Cohen was a children's book author as well as a collector of theatre programs. Her collection of programs all originate from productions that took place in both Chicago and New York in the early part of the 20th century

Scope and Contents

The Jean Barr Cohen Theatre Collection reflects the activities of Chicago-based and New York-based theatre companies between 1903 and 1941. While material in this collection primarily consists of programs for theater productions, it also includes programs for productions of music and dance. This collection contains inscribed photographs and creative writing as well. The collection is divided into three series: Chicago Productions, New York Productions and Photographs and Other Material. Material within each section is organized alphabetically.
