Biographical Sketch

John Michael, in partnership with his brother Jean Michael, founded Acorn Press in 1954 in Oak Park, Illinois. In 1969 they moved the business to the Washington DC area, where they won numerous awards for their designs.

The collection includes design examples from the Acorn Press, with a strong predominance of announcements printed for Society of Typographic Arts (STA) events, for which John served as treasurer.
