Marian L. Larson was an award winning journalist and public relations expert who worked as an editor, writer, and government official. Larson's lifelong interest in Latin America is reflected in her papers which include photographs, clippings, press releases, government documents, conference materials and many other items related to her professional work.

Biography of Marian L. Larson

Marian L. Larson was an award winning journalist and public relations expert. She served as Communications Coordinator for Latin Affairs in the Illinois Governor's Office, as Editor for the Journal of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and as editor and news writer for several mass publication periodicals including those targeting hospital administrators and medical staff. Marian L. Larson was administrative assistant to Jose Carlos Gomez, special assistant to the Governor of Illinois and the U.S. President on minority affairs, and she managed the itinerary of the President of Mexico's visit to the United States in 1972, as well as many other cultural exchanges. Marian L. Larson had a lifelong interest in Latin America and was an active member of several organizations dedicated to increasing cultural and commercial ties among the nations of the Americas.
