This Collection consists of interviews conducted by Stuart Hecht in 1980 and 1981 for his dissertation, Hull-House Theatre: An Analytical and Evaluative History, 1983, at Northwestern University.
Stuart Hecht conducted extensive interviews with Dorothy Edison Alter, Betty Balzerit, Elizabeth Elson Cohen, Alex Elson, Mrs. Nat (Goldie) Kahn, Nicolette (Nikki) Malone, Robert Sickinger, and Dorothy Sigel. Printed transcripts and audio recordings provide information about Hull-House Theater from the late nineteenth century through the early 1960s. Some interviews also provide information about the Hull-House Music School, clubs, and other neighborhood activities.
