Installing the InsightŪ JVA 5.5 Client

Please note if you do not wish to have software installed on your machine please feel free to use the Browser version of InsightŪ
which works with Internet Explorer, Netscape or Mozilla Firefox. The Browser version is not as fully-featured as the InsightŪ JVA Client is.

Downloading Luna Insight Software:

For Windows

Click here to get the client to install

For Mac (OS X)

Click here to get the client to install

At the file download prompt, choose "save to disk" and then to your Desktop.
After the download, double click the Insight icon, and click through the install process.
When you are done, Insight will be available under your Start/Programs/Luna Imaging/Insight 5.5 menu.
Start Insight by selecting it.

Access Instructions for Windows users:

  1. After installation, go to /Programs Files/Luna Imaging/Insight 5.5 folder
  2. Open Insight.dat file, change UserServerAddress1 = insightuser.lunaimaging.com to UserServerAddress1 = polk.lib.uic.edu
  3. Go to start/All programs/Luna Imaging/Insight5.5
  4. Enter your username and password, when prompted (all lower case letters)
    5. username: special password: special
  5. Select a collection by clicking once on the collection name, and then click the select button

Access Instructions for Macintosh users:

  1. After installation, double click on the Insight icon that appears on the desktop after installation.
  2. Open Insight.dat file, change UserServerAddress1 = insightuser.lunaimaging.com to UserServerAddress1 = polk.lib.uic.edu
  3. Enter your username and password, when prompted (all lower case letters)
    4. username: special password: special
  4. Select a collection by clicking once on the collection name, and then click the select button
