Tips on Developing a Portfolio
(from volunteers who tested the project):
- Reflect on your teaching to continue improving it.
- Start the portfolio early and work on it consistently.
- Talk to other teaching librarians to share ideas, to get advice, to
consider issues.
- Although the promotion and tenure evaluations require some uniformity
of presentation, the portfolio documents should reflect each librarian's
own teaching, perspectives, growth process.
- Balance time for teaching and research and service.
- Use only as much of the bibliography as you need.
- Review P&T criteria for how teaching documentation will be assessed
