2006 ILA Elections
Announcing the Illinois Library Association 2006 election timeline and candidates. Polls will open on April 1, 2006, and all current ILA members as of April 1, 2006, are eligible to vote in the 2006 election, either online or via paper ballot.
Members who change their e-mail addresses prior to April 1, 2006, can update their information by visiting the ILA website, calling (312) 644-1896, or e mailing Kristy. Please state on the subject line "update my e-mail address."
You can request a paper ballot (from Jan. 17, 2005 to March 31, 2006). Ballots return Deadline (April 30, 2006 at 11:59 p.m.). Paper ballots will be sent to members who request them prior to March 31, 2006, by calling (312) 644-1896 or sending an e-mail to Kristy. Members who do not have an e-mail address at home or work, may consider signing up for a free e-mail account from a service, such as Yahoo.
The ILA Nominating Committee has announced the candidates for election in the spring of 2006.
For vice-president/president-elect (three-year term beginning July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2009):

Board of Directors (three-year term beginning July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2009). A candidate from each pairing will be elected in accordance with the ILA bylaws as amended at the 1998 ILA Annual Conference; a total of four directors will be elected to serve three-year terms on the ILA board.

Public Forum Registration
The IUAG is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Public Services Forum to be held on Friday, February 24 at Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, IL.
All I-Share (ILCSO) library staff interested in public services are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is no cost for attendance, but registration is required.
Topics include discussions about the findings of the Web Voyage Usability Task Force, End User Instruction Committee Camtasia project, SFX, Webfeat, RSS feeds, a look at the public view of the catalog, and Web Voyage OPAC customization. Brief remarks by Susan Singleton, the new Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of CARLI are also planned.
