Department of the Month
The LHS Access and Tech Services was selected as the department of the month for the month of May 2006. They have put together a powerpoint presentation to share with our library family for all to view.
Supervisory Training Sessions
Priority will be given to support staff supervisors required to attend in the probationary period. Each session will be offered twice during the calendar year. A current schedule of sessions is available on the Library Human Resources Web site.

UIC Women's Leadership Symposium 2006
Women FIRST: Moving Forward Together
Thursday, June 1;
8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Illinois Room, Student Center East
Keynote Address: Chancellor Sylvia Manning
The symposium was originated at UIC as an effort to make leadership development more accessible to all women on campus and to address the unique issues faced by minority women. Academic professionals and support staff alike benefit from the practical information provided at the workshops. This event is open to faculty, staff, students, and the public. Advanced registration is required.
The Library will fund registration for Library Support Staff who would like to attend this workshop and have the permission of their supervisor and department head. Department heads should send approved requests to the Business Office by Friday, May 26, 2006. Academic staff may use their FDAC funds to attend.

On July 1, 2005, ICCMP, IDAL, and ILCSO merged to become the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI). 2005-2006 will be a transition year for the new organization during which an integrated CARLI website will be developed. Until the transition is complete, please continue to consult this website and those of CARLI, IDAL, and ILCSO.

CRL
