LIBRARY AD IN UIC DAILY
Daley Admin's Ben Ramos Showcases Library Services with Style
An advertisement for the University Library, designed by Benjamin Ramos, Jr., Customer Service Rep I, appears in the recently published 2005-06 UIC Daily student planner. The advertisement lists a variety of services the library provides, such as wireless Internet, quiet study areas, and one-hour laptop rentals. For a closer look, turn to page 203 in the Daily, available now in UIC bookstores. View more of Ben's artistic handiwork on exhibit in the Daley Administration display case, located just outside the Administration office.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of three Support Staff Task Forces charged to address issues raised during my individual meetings with staff. | INTERNET LIBRARIAN 2005 CONFERENCE
Discount for ILLINET Library Staff
Information Today is once again offering a discount to ILLINET libraries for staff planning on attending the popular Internet Librarian 2005 conference, Oct. 24-26, Monterey Conference Center, Monterey, Calif.
In order to obtain the discount, please fill out the registration form and mail form and payment to Lynn Bierma, ILLINET/OCLC Services, no later than Sept. 15, 2005. Checks should be made out to Information Today, Inc. If you're paying by credit card, the form may be faxed to Lynn at 217-524-5866.
CALL FOR PAPERS: CIS2E 05
The International Conferences on Computer, Information, and Systems Sciences, and Engineering (CIS2E), Dec. 10-20, 2005
Sponsored by the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the University of Bridgeport, CIS2E 05 provides a virtual forum for presentation and discussion of the state-of the-art research on computers, information and systems sciences and engineering. The virtual conference will be conducted through the Internet using web-conferencing tools, made available by the conference. Accepted and presented papers will be made available after the conference both on a CD and as a book publication.
CIS2E 05 is composed of the following four conferences:
* International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Technology & Automation (IETA 05)
* International Conference on Telecommunications and Networking (TeNe05)
* International Conference on Systems, Computing Sciences and Software Engineering (SCSS 05)
* International Conference on Engineering Education, Instructional Technology, Assessment, and E-learning (EIAE 05)
Paper Submission:
Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers electronically through the CIS2E Web site by Sept. 30, 2005. Accepted papers must be presented in the virtual conference by one of the authors.
