Write A Successful Research Proposal
UIC Writers Series Offers Seminar on Proposal Writing

Don't miss this opportunity to improve the success of your grant proposals and learn best practices from other grant writers. If you are looking to gain a better understanding of the grant and contract application process when applying for either foundation or governmental sources of funding, register for “Writing A Successful Research Grant Application: Strategies For Principal Investigators.”

Participants will review the basic steps of successful research grant proposal writing as well as learn successful writing approaches by utilizing a variety of resources and tools. Peer review and hands-on writing exercises facilitate the learning process as participants explore current trends and issues in academic grant writing. Participants will then be able to apply these best practices to their own grant writing.

Participants will learn from academicians and scientists as they dialogue collectively with guest presenters and other colleagues on a password-protected website. Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

* Components of a Research Application
* Research Design
* Where to Seek Funding
* The Grant Review Process

Complete details.

WHO SHOULD REGISTER FOR THIS SEMINAR?
This seminar will accommodate anyone interested in enhancing his/her academic grant writing skills. Past participants come from a broad range of academic fields ranging from microbiology to public health, clinical psychology to engineering.

Those seeking funding for the first time will benefit from learning successful approaches and strategies for developing the research grant application, and those who have experience writing academic grants will sharpen their skills while examining current grant writing trends.

"Professional Writing for Librarians" helps participants develop and enhance the research and writing skills that lead to publication. In this course you will review the entire writing process, from getting started to submitting your manuscript.
