Presentation
Nancy John, Digital Publishing Librarian and Associate Professor (retired), gave a presentation at the CNI (Coalition for Networked Information) Fall meeting on Dec. 5 in Phoenix, Ariz. Presentations are competitively reviewed. Her presentation, "Putting the 'I' back in Library," was about the opportunity the Library faces in being able to create more customized and personalized services for the user by adopting technologies in use in the open Web. Approximately 100 people participated in a lively discussion. (Nancy would like to thank Li, Francis, Ling, Daniel and Ellen, who served as an ad hoc dress-rehearsal group, and whose comment significantly improved the presentation).
Award Recipient
Nancy John, Digital Publishing Librarian and Associate Professor (retired), received one of five 2005 Women with Vision Awards from the Women's Bar Association of Illinois at a gala dinner on Nov. 9 at the Mid-Day Club in the Chase Bank Tower.
