How to run LIVE UPDATE : WINDOWS

On the tool bar of your Windows interface, you will find a small yellow shield over near the clock on the lower right.
Click on it and it will open your Symantec Anti Virus Application (SAV).
On the lower right quadrant of that screen is
a button labeled Live update.
Click on it.
A window will open asking how you want to update.
Click on Internet.
Click on Next.
The progress box will show you that the software is connecting, locating the definition file, downloading it and installing it.
Several installation boxes will appear, each showing 0-100%.
Finally Live Update will say, Virus Definitions updated.
The date under the Live update file may still be out of sync;
simply exit SAV (click Exit or click on the close window box)
and reopen it by clicking on the shield again,
and you will see the new date.

How to run LIVE UPDATE: MACINTOSH

Go to the Applications folder, and open Norton AntiVirus.
Click on the Live update button.
A new dialog box appears.
Click on Update everything now.
Another dialog box appears -- checking to see what needs to be updated.
Dialog box appears showing whether everything is up-to-date or you need to update a file.
If update is needed, click on Update now.
Update runs and dialog box appears showing that everything is up-to-date.
